Every now and then a group of 4:3 writers sit down for roundtable discussions about issue of contemporary cinema. This is the first of those roundtables, exploring the recent trio of films about female sexuality and directed by male directors that have made may their way to Australian cinema screens. Whilst there are detailed descriptions of scenes in Blue and Nymphomaniac, there are no overt spoilers for the films. This roundtable is comprised of Saro Lusty-Cavallari, Peter Walsh, Grace Sharkey and Felix Hubble.
Disclaimer: Originally the panel for this roundtable was to be comprised of a 3/3 gender split, however, due to time constraints two panelists had to drop out. As a result, we have three men and one woman on a panel about female sexuality. We recognise that this is problematic, considering the nature of the discussion.
