The Palestinian Film Festival this year showcased short films which acted as an incisive portrayal of the hardshipsfaced by the Palestinian, Gazan and Israeli populations.
Where Should the Birds Fly
Fida Qishta’s film navigates through the collective trauma of a community from a refreshingly insider perspective. As the first film on the Gaza conflict made by its citizens, the intimacy and intricacy of the film is rare and deeply necessary in the current atmosphere.
Giraffada
Based on a real life attempted giraffe heist between Israel and Palestine, GIRAFFADA may not alway thrill narratively but offers some great slice-of-life scenes and symbolism that make it a successful film for the upcoming Palestinian Film Festival.
